Thank You Voters!

Dear SLPS Parents,

Thank you to everyone who voted in the May 6th election - on behalf of our staff, Board of Education, and myself, we are quite overwhelmed with the support that the Spring Lake community has given to our students. This is a remarkable place to live and raise a family and these projects will protect the quality that we all expect and enjoy for future generations.

In anticipation of a positive result at the polls (hopeful!), we've already begun some of the crucial work to lay a foundation for technology upgrades at Spring Lake High School and bus purchases. In the coming weeks, design teams will be assembled for the purpose of addressing the facility renovations and additions, as well as athletic upgrades. Design work will continue into the fall before giving way to the preparation of construction documents, bidding & awarding of contracts, procurement, and implementation. The first shovels of dirt will be turned a year from now and projects will be complete in the fall of 2016.

You've given your school system a tremendous opportunity. In return, we plan to keep you abreast of our progress, engage you in the planning, and make certain that your investment is wisely spent. Expect nothing less.

Thank you,

Dennis Furton, Superintendent
